World goes through a structural shift in the demand for mining commodities

The World Bank’s global director for energy and extractives, Demetrious Papathanasiou, says the world is going through a structural shift in the demand for mining commodities and that the continent was well positioned to benefit from the increased demand for transitional metals.

He was speaking with global mining leaders at the Mining Indaba in Cape Town.

Business Reporter caught up with him earlier today and started off by asking what the energy crisis means for urgent cuts to greenhouse gasses and the transition to net zero.
