WTI was under the $96 price level yesterday. The stock market was selling off alongside energies as well. “There is macro risk off for crude oil. There is a difference between the paper market and physical market. Fear of a recession is a trend within commodities. Investors are pricing in a global financial crisis. Last year during the Covid pandemic, everyone was buying commodities as an inflation safety play,” says Kathy Kriskey.
